Case Studies
A lot of our competitors talk about risk management, but the service they provide is limited to the products they sell. An insurance policy may or may not be a solution to managing the risk inherent in a certain facet of an organization.
International Contractor
Our team was hired as the Outsourced International Risk Management Team to help develop a comprehensive risk management strategy for operations in Africa and China. We worked with the client to develop a comprehensive risk strategy that includes medical treatment for employees for work and non-work related incidences, world-wide travel protection, evacuation from offshore facilities, protection for company trade names, security, etc. Partnering with our Assurex Global partners we were also able to place worker’s compensation, general liability, and auto liability policies in the local countries. International Insurance is a complex matrix of coverage and duplication existed. Our team was able to eliminate duplicate coverage therefore reducing the cost of risk significantly for our client. Louisiana Companies is highly specialized in International Risk Management and can tackle most any project anywhere.
International Performance Bond
Our team was contacted by a CFO of large energy related business who needed an international performance bond for an offshore construction project. Although it is not our strategy to compete with traditional agencies, we knew we were likely the only firm to acquire the bond and the bonding terms needed for this size of project given the particular international location. After successful acquisition of the international bond with a standard nationally recognized carrier, we proceeded to set up a bonding line of credit for both domestic and international projects. We were also able to help the client understand how to grow the business through successful bond requests. The relationship continues to grow.
Shipyard
Shipyards present some of the greatest hazards to workers. Our team listened to the shipyard’s request for greater control of their overall safety and risk management program. Our strategists quickly involved the client in a national shipyard safety committee with other safety professionals across the country with one goal in mind…to reduce exposures to workers in the shipyards. In addition, our risk control staff engaged the client in scheduled risk audits which involved a team consisting of company personal, insurance loss control, claims staff, attorneys and underwriters. The result of this team effort not only resulted in a significant reduction in costs to the client, but also proved to be effective with OSHA. The shipyard received a glorious report following an OSHA visit in which the OSHA inspector took pictures of how the shipyard used safety effectively to help him communicate to other shipyards that this level of safety can be successfully implemented.
